Peter Simpson Memorial Award
This award has been created to honour the memory of “COPO Pete”, a local and much-loved car racing enthusiast.  Pete and his family were all part of the racing team and scene.  This award can be presented to a student in his or her last year of high school who achieves the highest grade in a senior transportation technology course, achieves at a high level in a cooperative education placement in the automotive area, or who is offered an automotive apprenticeship as a result of successful school or cooperative education achievement.  The class of 1980 and Friends raised the money for this award in Pete’s memory.  In the event that Glencoe District High School closes, this award will go to a secondary student who lives within the boundaries currently served by GDHS.
