The gym at Glencoe District High School hosted the reunion church service with over 200 people in attendence. The worship band from Bethel Baptist Church in Strathroy, home church to the Re:generation Centre, was pleased to be asked to help the people of Glencoe praise and thank God for the high school and the town.
Alumni Rev. Deb Dolbear-Vanbilsen gave a moving sermon “If you can’t do everything, just do something”. Representing the future of the high school was the Baker’s Dozen from Mosa Central Public School. Joining in the celebration was the flag group from the Re:generation Centre.
The Glencoe Ministerial combined services from local churches and everyone joined in to celebrate their faith and the 60th birthday of the school. Coffee and muffins were served after the service with some great conversation, thank yous and long good-byes. Offerings were collected for the Benevolent Fund which helps families in need in Glencoe.

The staff and students of Glencoe District High School welcome you to the 60th Reunion festivities! As Principal of GDHS I have been very impressed by the efforts the entire Reunion Committee has put forth to ensure a wonderful weekend for everyone.
I also want to assure you that GDHS continues to offer the top-notch education that our students deserve while also providing our young people with all of the extra-curricular activities and opportunities that everyone enjoys and remembers during weekends such as these.
Whether you are returning to GDHS for the first time in weeks, months or years – be sure to take in all that the weekend offers, take a good look around the school and enjoy what truly is a very special place!
I will see you on the long weekend! Sincerely, M. Moore, Principal
Welcome everyone to the 60th anniversary of Glencoe District High School. I’m looking forward to seeing fellow graduates at this exciting weekend to celebrate a real milestone. GDHS is a cornerstone of our community and continues to provide an excellent foundation for kids to achieve their dreams.
Generations of students, myself included, owe wonderful memories and great achievements to their time spent at this school.
I can’t wait to reconnect with all the wonderful people I remember and to meet some of the many interesting and incredible faculty and alumni who have walked the halls of GDHS.
‘Who’s coming?’ you ask. Well here are just the ones who have pre-registered. There will be many walk-ins Friday night. Karen Hodgson encourages everyone to just phone 519 289-0605 to register now.
